Softball Training

PAL Softball gives young athletes the opportunity to build their skills, confidence, and love for the game throughout the year.

Our softball programs feature a variety of sessions focused on different aspects of the game, including batting, fielding, throwing, pitching, base running, and overall game skills. Each program is designed to provide fun, focused instruction in a supportive environment for athletes of different ages and skill levels.

Softball Batting Training

Runs: September 30 to November 11

Ages: 8-14 years old, girls only

 

Program Details: The PAL Softball Batting Academy is a 6-week girls-only developmental program designed to help athletes improve their hitting skills, build confidence at the plate, and develop proper batting mechanics through focused instruction in a small-group setting led by experienced coaches.
Schedule: Wednesday Evenings
Dates: September 30; October 7, 14, 28; November 4, 11 (No session October 21)
Location: Crossplex Indoor AstroTurf Field

Ages & Times:

Ages 8 to 10: 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Ages 11 to 14: 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Registration Fee: $175
Registration Closes: September 20 or when capacity is reached
Program Information

Each one-hour session provides focused batting instruction in a small-group environment with a maximum of 10 players per age group. Athletes will develop proper hitting fundamentals, including stance, grip, swing mechanics, bat path, timing, and contact through a combination of drills, tee work, front toss, and live hitting. The small-group format allows for individualized coaching, increased repetitions, and personalized feedback to help players improve throughout the program.

  • Softball glove
  • Softball bat
  • Batting helmet

Led by Coach Sam Barone

Coach Sam has experience coaching at the recreational, travel, and collegiate levels. His instruction emphasizes:

  • Proper hitting fundamentals
  • Quality swing mechanics
  • Confident approaches at the plate
  • Situational hitting
  • Individualized coaching based on each athlete’s skill level

Through repetition, discipline, and positive instruction, athletes will gain the skills and confidence to become more complete hitters.
